Chō-Jun! Chōjō-senpai Anime PV: Japanese Fans React to a Redemption — "The Manga That Got Axed, Then Won a Prize and Got an Anime"
“The manga that somehow got axed, then won the next big manga award and got an anime.”
On the first main PV for the TV anime "Chō-Jun! Chōjō-senpai" (from Samon the Summoner mangaka Shun Numa, airing October 2026), Japanese fans turned the comments into a full vindication party. The most-liked reply summed the whole arc up — a manga that got cancelled, then won a major manga award and got animated anyway — and from there fans waded into nostalgia for the Samon days, relief that Numa is finally being rewarded, genuine surprise that the art looks great, and a chorus begging for Samon the Summoner to get its own anime next. They even clocked the lead voice as the guy you hear on every Nintendo Switch ad. The closing mood: people quietly admitting they were trying very hard not to cry over this.

So unlike Demon Slayer, which was clearly speed-running its way to an ending, this one got straight-up cancelled and THEN got recognized and animated.

I've been waiting since the Samon the Summoner days for a Shun Numa anime. Right now I'm watching the continuation of a dream I missed back in the Heisei era.
Agreed! The times finally caught up!! When you imagine the readers from back then growing up and becoming the people now making this, it really hits you.

So this is what the Heisei era was preheating us for…!

I'm just happy Numa-sensei is finally getting his due.
I'm happy. Genuinely happy. I've loved this since it first ran, so I was crushed when it got cancelled — but seeing it animated now means more to me than anything.
- @scp1989👍 45
It's so good you genuinely can't figure out why it ended. Numa-sensei's way with words is something you'll be laughing at for life.
Why on earth did they cut this? It was even nominated for Kono Manga ga Sugoi and the anime was already in the works. I've got nothing but distrust for the current Jump editorial team.
Wait… the art is way better than I expected…!? Just plain happy about that.

Chōjō's voice is like 6 times more wholesome-sounding than I imagined, lol.

That voice you know from every Nintendo Switch ad.
It's probably Yuichi Nakamura — the Switch ad guy — in that opening 'there was a washed-up psychic in some backstreet' line.
Wait, this is Yuichi Nakamura…? The vibe's so different I had no idea. Thanks!
- @nususi_53👍 44
It's wild how Miyata from Kis-My-Ft2 is just casually in the cast like it's nothing.

Maria Naganawa pulling off a powerful male voice is a rare treat. No choice but to watch.

Never in a million years did I think this would get animated before Samon the Summoner.
And Samon seemed like the more popular one, too. But if this anime succeeds, then surely Samon will follow…!!
Honestly, just bring back the serialization already. For real.
Samon actually makes a guest appearance in this series, you know.
Cancelled and then animated anyway — that's so absurd it's funny lol. Now please give Samon the Summoner an anime too.
Yes it got cancelled — but please, let this be the chance for a sequel in Jump SQ or Jump+!
The current editors have no taste. They ended this and then just spam-launch trash new series hoping something sticks.
I genuinely won't forgive them for ending this and handing the gag slot to that prison series — which also got cancelled, by the way. If an anime was already greenlit you'd normally keep it running…
It looks like it's turning out great and I couldn't be happier. Now somebody do something for Samon too.
Make each episode about 5 minutes long and just drown me in a flood of gags.
- @CA0MBAA👍 1
Numa-sensei's stuff is that rare kind of work that gets funnier with voices added, so the anime makes me genuinely happy…
- @scp1989👍 8
Hold on, I'm so happy. Happy enough to cry — but I refuse to be the guy who cries over Chōjō, so I'm holding it back. Waiting on the idol episode.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeNeko to Ryū (The Cat and the Dragon): Japanese Fans React to the PV — "Takehito Koyasu's Gentle Voice Heals My Whole Body"
On the 2nd PV for Neko to Ryū (The Cat and the Dragon), the cozy July 2026 fantasy anime, Japanese fans went straight for the warm fuzzies. The top comments melted over Takehito Koyasu voicing a gentle dragon — "is there really an anime where I get to hear Koyasu this calm?" — while another wave celebrated the Yorushika-flavored music team (suis singing, Kitani Tatsuya on the song). Then the mood turned tender as readers braced themselves for one character's storyline, half-laughing that just hearing the name is enough to start the waterworks.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeRe:Zero Season 4: Japanese Fans React to Its Record Acclaim — "This Is Hands-Down the Season's Champion"
On Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, Japanese fans reacted to reports that Season 4 has hit record overseas acclaim by simply crowning it this season's champion. The thread broke down WHY it holds up after four seasons: a Return by Death loop story that still builds a real payoff every single cour, "Stay Alive" wrecking everyone again, Yusuke Kobayashi's voice acting, and the gut-punch "even if you forget, I'll remember" callback. The mood is proud — the world finally gets it — with web-novel readers grinning at how much better the Recovery arc gets, and one closing line that says it all about how Subaru dies for a living.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeRe:Zero Season 4 Part 2: Japanese Fans Brace for the "Hell" Ahead — "As If Everything Until Now Wasn't Already Hell"
Re:Zero Season 4's second cour is being billed as the show's most brutal stretch yet, and the top Japanese comments answered with the franchise's signature mix of dread and dark comedy. The most-liked reply just deadpanned that calling it 'hell' implies the rest wasn't — and from there fans spiraled into Re:Zero's own coping meme, announcing they were off to 'go wash a cup' to escape the despair. Web-novel readers quietly raised the stakes (one says Subaru death-loops 25 times in this arc), fans clocked that the pile under everyone's feet in the key visual is a mountain of Subaru's corpses, and through all of it the verdict held: this is going to be the most thrilling cour they've ever watched. The closing mood, after all the suffering: someone, please just apologize to Subaru.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeRanma ½ Season 3 PV: How Japanese Fans Reacted to the Remake — "Glad I Lived Long Enough to See This"
Ranma ½ Season 3 dropped its second PV, and the most-liked Japanese reactions were equal parts nostalgia and disbelief at the glow-up. The recurring notes: that a manga which ended over 30 years ago is somehow back in the Reiwa era looking like a movie, gratitude for Rumiko Takahashi's seemingly endless run of adaptations, and very specific excitement over the deep-cut arcs fans assumed a remake would cut — the Bakusai Tenketsu episodes, Pantyhose Taro, the love-potion chapter skipped in Season 2. There's a quiet worry too (three seasons won't be nearly enough for 40 volumes), but the loudest feeling is gratitude, with one fan summing it up: this is 'glad I lived long enough' territory.
