Genshin Impact Snezhnaya: Japanese Fans React — "Honestly, can the Tsaritsa even beat Celestia? She's just in too deep to back out now"
“Every single nation on this planet is on the brink of ruin lol”
On Genshin Impact's coming Snezhnaya chapter, Japanese players are picking apart the Tsaritsa's odds and the Fatui's home turf. Many love the "fairy-tale nation" vibe and say it actually feels stable — "an old god plus a capable human leadership" — while others note the running pattern that "every nation in this game is on the verge of ruin," and that the Cryo Archon gets written off as a "weak" god by her own people. The big fear: she may already suspect she can't beat Celestia but is too far in to stop, and one reply lands the irony perfectly.

Honestly the nations with an old god who's been doing the job forever (looking at you, bard) and the one with no Mora actually feel rock solid. They've got competent human leadership too, so there's a sense of security.
That fairy-tale nation vibe? Yeah, I totally get it.
- @against4168👍 158
Up to now it's always been a nation the Fatui were reaching their claws into, but this time it's finally the Fatui's own country.
- @CB-baseball-like👍 136
It's just that Mondstadt and Liyue are rock-solid; basically every other place is half-collapsed. If anything those two are the weird ones.
- @jojosp34👍 116
Nod-Krai would've toppled too if Holonbeena hadn't busted her butt. Everywhere's one bad day from falling over.

That said, remember how everyone used to call Fontaine a dystopia with a brutal rich-poor divide?

One's about to get dropped on Snezhnaya as a warning, I bet. We've still never actually seen a nation get destroyed on screen.
- @assabu3127👍 341
Reading the vibe, there's a real chance the Tsaritsa secretly thinks "can I actually beat Celestia? Probably not" but she's already too far in to back out, and the moment she shows any weakness she gets thrown away. Furina stayed loved after everything, but the Tsaritsa might just fall from grace.
- @doyomexin0612👍 77
The Wealth Harbinger's line — "what guarantee is there that a god won't fall into corruption?" — would be brutally ironic if the very Tsaritsa he serves is the one who falls…
- @mp-fe6vn👍 141
The way the other Archons basically go "the Cryo Archon? too weak to even bother thinking about" is so pitiful it's almost adorable. And meanwhile her nation is THIS close to ruin.
Once we go to the moon next patch and see all the ancient dragon civilization's relics, it'll be clear — even dragons with THAT level of tech couldn't beat Celestia. So I'm dying to know what plan the Tsaritsa has. The Gnoses are the core of it, sure, but the Pyro Gnosis vanished thanks to Dottore, and I bet that's exactly what makes the plan fail.
Even if she collects every Gnosis and becomes Ultimate Tsaritsa, you just know Rhinedottir and the Sustainers go "welcome~ if you've got business with Celestia, you gotta get past us first~" and she can't even get an audience.
- @kennaka5817👍 30
"For believing she'd raise the banner of rebellion against Celestia," huh. She's probably gonna get overthrown by revolution before she ever gets to raise it.
"Unloved by her people" is ominous too. People griping about or criticizing their god happened in past nations — Raiden, Furina — so the fact they're going out of their way to spell it out means something.
- @user-tokyostay👍 40
Even after the Archon Quest wraps, I bet there's a revolution brewing in the background like it's a daily commission or event quest.
Her Majesty the Tsaritsa is gonna get mobbed by the people and the fairies and killed in a revolution. And then some horrifying entity she'd barely been holding back manifests (…) And so, peace returned to Snezhnaya. New quest available at a later date. Please enjoy the intermission. (…) Forgive us… forgive us… forgive us our sins…
that's literally just some fairy-tale nation, isn't it
I kinda feel like the Cryo Archon dies during the main story…? And since Genshin has this lore where anyone with a Vision is qualified to become a god, I low-key want to see a development like that.
There's a real chance the Cryo Archon, killed in the revolution, was actually the only thing barely protecting Snezhnaya, and once she's gone the dangerous thing she'd sealed manifests.
1:03 isn't this a flashback to the Fae era? The ones doing the capturing aren't human, judging by the ears. The late Fae era got so corrupt that humans rose up, and present-day Snezhnaya is the result of the Tsaritsa and humans teaming up to take the Fae down.
- @NEKOSAMAnosimobe-q1i👍 4
Those pointy-eared guards(?) are definitely Fae. The Fatui higher-ups too. …So Freminet's folks used to live here. It's a fairy-tale paradise…

Factor in that the real Russian Empire had a revolution where the whole royal family was killed (and Tsar Nicholas's youngest daughter was named Anastasia), and there's gonna be a big body count like the Abyss frontline in Natlan. They won't off a playable character outright, sure (that'd hit gacha revenue), but HoYo treats NPCs as fair game for anything (see Rosalyne and the "Puppet").
It's clearly Russia-themed, and the name Anastasia Feodorovna Snezhnaya means "of the snowy land, daughter of the father who is a gift of god, the resurrected one," so most likely, probably, perhaps it ends in revolution or collapse-and-rebuilding.
- @user-Shiki.M👍 56
There's already an NPC name from a world quest that lines up with Rasputin, and he's deceased, so maybe — just maybe — there's a Romanov-dynasty-where-the-revolution-failed route (like The Man in the High Castle)?
The more I learn about Snezhnaya's situation, the more I think the Jester (Pierro) is based on Rasputin.
It's like the Russian Federation, holding together by a thread purely on an anti-EU banner.
- @sabatotora👍 118
Natlan's Archon Quest was pretty merciless, so I can't help feeling Snezhnaya's Archon Quest is gonna be brutal too — and it hasn't even started.
Excluding Nod-Krai, the body count just keeps climbing steadily… maybe not Natlan levels, but some kind of huge despair is totally on the table.
- @HASHIKI532👍 29
I'm praying it doesn't turn into a shallow "actually she sacrificed everything for all of Teyvat" twist. This game really loves the whole "willing to sacrifice anything for the greater good" narrative.
They're probably gonna have to pay the bill for everything the Fatui have been doing to every other nation, too.
Yeah, "that was an individual acting on their own, nothing to do with us" isn't gonna cut it at this point.

Come to think of it, we're finally (probably) about to learn what Zhongli's "contract to end all contracts" from the very, very start of the story actually meant…… It's been long…… really, really long……
Well, the chapter's titled "the nation a god does not love," so they're gonna pay that off, huh.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeGenshin's "The Final Gift" Animated Short — How Japanese Fans Reacted to the Harbingers' Slumber Party: "She's THIS Adorable, and We Never Saw a Single Frame of It Before She Died."
Genshin Impact's new animated short "The Final Gift" dropped on the game's Japanese channel, and instead of villains it shows four of the Fatui Harbingers — Sandrone, Columbina, La Signora (Rosalyne), and Arlecchino — having a private, pajama-clad slumber party. The most-liked Japanese reactions weren't about the lore drops; they were about the gut-punch of seeing this warmth at all. The recurring theme is the cruelty of the gap: the comment thread keeps circling the fact that these are characters Japanese players only ever knew as cold antagonists — "The Knave" relaxed enough to laugh out loud and lose a pillow fight, the tsundere Marionette gone completely soft, Columbina just standing at the door singing — and above all Rosalyne, the caring big-sister of the group, who in the main story dies in Inazuma before showing a millimeter of this side. Fans rewrite the family roles (mischievous mother, watchful father), debate whether she's a villain or just "someone who loved an ordinary love and drowned in it," and note how her in-game lines now land completely differently. It builds to one bittersweet wish that only a Genshin player would phrase exactly this way.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeHonkai: Star Rail — Japanese Fans React to Castorice's Tragic Past: "Stay away from me!! (out of kindness)"
On Honkai: Star Rail, Japanese fans watched a short retelling of Castorice's tragic past — her touch always brings death, so she can never get close to anyone — and coped the only way they know how: by joking through the tears. The thread splits between genuine heartbreak ("Onpolos is bad for your heart and tear ducts") and pure gallows humor, with the "stay away from me!! (out of kindness)" reframe and a horrified "I wonder how many it killed" becoming instant memes. The kicker is the deer at the end, which fans swear is staring straight into the camera.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeHonkai: Star Rail's Amphoreus Arc Broke Japanese Players: Their Reactions — "Wait, Does Literally EVERYONE Die?!"
Honkai: Star Rail's Amphoreus arc left Japanese players reeling, and the comment section under one screaming reaction Short reads like a group grief-counseling session. The most-liked replies aren't analysis — they're survivors. One player describes shrieking "wait, does the story really kill EVERYONE??" while ugly-crying; another calls the quiet phrase "see you tomorrow" (また明日) "the trauma of every single Star Rail player." Death after death lands — Mydei, Tribbie, Cyrene — until people stop processing it as tragedy and start laughing just to stay upright. That's where the very-Japanese coping instinct takes over: an abrupt "BEETLE!" outburst that the whole thread quotes back at each other, multiple players swearing the Trailblazer's scream sounds exactly like Present Mic from My Hero Academia, and a running joke that the writer (nicknamed "Yakitori") promised "a story full of sunlight" — to which everyone replies, "WHERE." The thread keeps circling one honest admission: "if you don't crack jokes like this, you genuinely can't get through this story." It closes on the bittersweet truth underneath all the memes — that the joking is how they survive being gutted, and they wouldn't trade the pain.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeWhich Region Is Pokémon Legends Going Next? Japanese Fans Make Their Case — "Surely it has to be Unova…"
With Pokémon Legends: Z-A out, Japanese fans are debating which region the next Legends should explore — and the comment section turned into a full-on communal wishlist. The most-liked picks split into a few camps. The runaway favorite is Unova: a top comment dreams of a Scarlet & Violet-style Legends split into "a past arc and a future arc," while others want a payoff for Complete Forme Kyurem and the Zekrom/Reshiram hero legend. Right behind it is Johto set about 150 years before Gold & Silver — "I want to see the legendary beasts' true forms before they were revived" — digging into the origins of Raikou, Entei and Suicune. Alola has a loud bloc too, betting on a trip to the past to finally unpack Ultra Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts. And the most ambitious wishlist mechanics got people dreaming big: fusing with a Pokémon to control it directly, and one fan's pitch to "travel between past, present and future where your past actions change the future" — a game so huge that, as fans joke, "even the Nintendo Switch 2 might struggle to run it." It's a light, hopeful thread, equal parts lore theory and pure fan wishlist. So: Unova, Johto, Alola — where do you want Legends to go?
