A Meccha Chameleon Player Dodges Instead of Hiding — and Japan Can't Stop Laughing
めっちゃカメレオン、隠れずに“逃げ回る”猛者に日本のファン爆笑—「ゲームの趣旨変わってて草」
“The entire point of the game has changed lol”
ゲームの趣旨かわってて草
Meccha Chameleon is the hide-and-seek party game out of Japan that just exploded worldwide: hiders disguise as objects while a seeker hunts them. But in this clip — shared by Japanese creator Sekai Ojisan — the hider does the exact opposite of hiding: he juke-dances around the 'stop man' seeker with pinpoint emote-cancels, and Japanese fans lost it. The most-liked comment simply declares that the entire point of the game has changed. From there the thread crowns a whole new archetype ('there are chameleon players, hide-and-seek players… and now: the dodge faction'), marvels at how the player shrinks his hitbox with emotes ('so crafty'), and notes that Chinese players in particular tend to run circles rather than hide. It's the affectionate, in-the-know laughter of a fanbase watching someone break their favorite game in the funniest possible way — right down to the exasperated question every player ends up asking about who gave the chameleon dodge skills in the first place.

His dodging is way too good lol. He's the 'Stop Man' who never stops — a walking contradiction.

He's supposed to STOP and he doesn't stop at all lol. Just STOP already, STOP.

The chameleon players. The hide-and-seek players. And now, the newcomer: the dodge faction.

Rather than a 'dodge faction,' isn't this just tag? If we're sorting them into categories, next to hide-and-seek.

When word spread that the Switch 2 port of Elden Ring was being nicknamed the "Tarnished Edition" (褪せ人エディション), Japanese players gleefully ran with the in-joke. The thread imagined Nightreign converts getting bodied by the Tree Sentinel before Margit finishes them off, riffed on a fake "For You, Without a Maiden" sticker on the box, and rolled out every demigod insult in the game. It builds to the question that breaks everyone — and one reader's verdict on FromSoftware's relationship with discrimination.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeStar Fox on Switch 2: Japanese Fans React — "They Cut 'Gomen-chai!' and Westernized Fox"
On the Switch 2 version of Star Fox, Japanese fans reacted by zeroing in on exactly what changed from Star Fox 64. The single most-debated point: the cutesy "Gomen-chai!" ("sowwy!") voice line getting cut. From there the thread argues Fox got Westernized — he lost the polite, earnest-hero feel of 64 and now reads like a cocky modern kid, and people miss the punchy "Mission Complete" delivery. The mood is nostalgic and split, "good and bad, but it's a different beast from 64" — with one fan landing on why the new Fox might actually be the right call.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeElden Ring: Japanese Fans Share Their Ride-or-Die Fashion Souls Builds — "Lol, It Ends on a Mushroom"
On Elden Ring, Japanese players turned a "what gear did you actually main?" thread into a wholesome fashion-souls show-and-tell. The most-liked picks were the cloth Banished Knight set and Vagabond armor with a Greatsword for "peak adventurer vibes," while others swore by the Black Knife set for keeping a light-roll, mixed Cuckoo Knight helms onto Night's Cavalry bodies, and confessed to cosplaying Ranni on a grizzled old-man face. It all builds to the same punchline the video saves for last — the one drip choice that had everyone laughing.

🎮 GamesGamesYouTubeFinal Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Reveal: Japanese Fans React — "I'm So Hyped I'm Binging Every Reaction Video"
On the reveal of Final Fantasy VII Remake's third and final entry (called "Liberation" in the Japanese coverage), Japanese fans went fully euphoric. The top comments admit they're "too hyped to sit still" and binging every reaction video, then turn surprisingly reverent — deep respect that today's Square Enix rebuilt FF7 from scratch, and trust that they'll land it because Rebirth already proved they can. Threaded under all the excitement is a quieter, teary note about Cloud's gentler voice in the trailer, building to a closing wish that this team get to make every Final Fantasy from here on out.
