One Piece Chapter 1187: Japanese Fans React to Sanji's Conqueror's Haki — "At This Point I Might Have It Too"
“Honestly, at this point I can't even tell who has Conqueror's Haki and who just has regular Haki anymore. Back in the day it was simple — Conqueror's Haki meant you knocked out everyone around you.”
In One Piece Chapter 1187, Sanji reveals he has Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki) — and Japanese readers reacted less with hype than with fatigue at how common the once-legendary power has become. The recurring theme in the comments was power-creep exhaustion: a running joke that at this rate literally everyone on the crew, and maybe even the reader themselves, secretly has it too; a genuine argument over which Straw Hats (Franky, Robin, Brook, Usopp) are overdue for their own Haki upgrade; and a sharper complaint that a technique once defined by "you instantly knock out everyone around you" has turned into something handed out like a coupon. It all lands on one exhausted three-word comment that says everything the thread couldn't.

The moment we found out the Pirate King's #3 guy Gaban had Conqueror's Haki, this was already a foregone conclusion.
At this rate I feel like the eventual retcon is going to be "actually every race is born with the potential for all three Haki types, they just never awaken it because of their mentality, or they have it and just don't realize it or train it."
- @kaiya3025👍 3
Yeah, that actually sounds plausible.
Honestly if that's the actual explanation it'd kill the magic a little — "loving punches" would just become "Armament Haki triggered by strength of will" and lose all the mystique.
At this point I might have Conqueror's Haki too.
- @TheNNSNNS👍 15
Even I have it, so yeah, checks out.
- @motopsychorideordie👍 20
Wait, seriously? How come I don't have it then.
- @noontpa4863👍 5
It's a Conqueror's Haki clearance sale at this point. Wouldn't even be surprised if Brook has it too.
- @kohakuironopoke👍 43
Kaidou's going to have to say "you don't need this many Conquerors" all over again...
Honestly, forget Conqueror's Haki — I'd rather they just did SOMETHING about the rest of the crew's Haki situation first.
- @tokitou1154👍 33
At the very least Franky, Robin, and Brook need to learn Armament Haki already. Quit slacking.
- @toka1658👍 17
Usopp's already had Observation Haki awakening moments back in Dressrosa and the Film Red movie, so it's about time he actually mastered it.
- @ujimusgjdtvjk👍 10
Thing is, in the current power scale, awakening Observation Haki alone without Conqueror's on top of it basically makes you combat-irrelevant now. Oda's really bad at pacing this stuff out.
- @shige19800yen👍 88
Judge doesn't really lead through personal presence though. I doubt Judge himself has Conqueror's Haki — his sons and soldiers are all emotion-stripped clones, so it's not like he's drawing people in through charisma.
Being a king doesn't automatically mean you have Conqueror's Haki, to be fair.
A royal family that's just a scientist's self-declared nation doesn't carry much bloodline weight — it reads more like generic-brand royalty, not the kind of lineage that screams "king material."
I don't think it's really about Sanji's bloodline at all — feels more like he just happened to be born with it himself.
- @adwpgjtpj👍 14
If the family's been royalty for generations rather than Judge himself being the founder, the original ancestor almost certainly had it, so a hereditary path exists. Also, since Judge was engineering strong kids on purpose, I'm curious about the wife's bloodline too.
Kirin-gham putting on a Kaidou-tier wrestling match of a buildup before the reveal.
- @hide0482👍 2
After taking damage that should've been a mystery-tier near-death experience, he just... doesn't finish him off and lets him recover instantly. Truly a master of pro-wrestling pacing, Kirin-gham-san.
Honestly, once you're at the level of a top pirate or an Emperor's officer, I'd buy that everyone already has the raw potential — and only a handful ever actually awaken it. That framing I could accept.
- @muller19392👍 4
Fine, he has it, sure. What bugs me is skipping the whole growth arc — unconscious use → conscious intimidation → actually coating your body in it. Something we were told only a rare handful could ever pull off is turning into the default setting.
- @hachin-twice8👍 3
It took Luffy two whole years to get a handle on it, and he only learned to coat himself in it after training in Ryuo. If Sanji just awakens it and instantly masters it, that's gonna kill the vibe... but then again, he has no way to beat Kirin-gham without it, so.
- @AIC-nr6zr👍 3
Honestly Conqueror's Haki or not, doesn't matter to me — the real issue is this whole Kirin-gham vs. Sanji fight only exists because the guy mysteriously keeps not finishing him off. It's too farcical to take seriously.
- @awayplay309👍 6
This is what happens when you can't control power creep. They're just handing this stuff out way too carelessly.
Yeah, okay, that's enough of that...

📖 MangaMangaYouTubeOne Piece Chapter 1187: Japanese Fans React — "I'm Luffy, the Man Who'll Be Pirate King!"
On One Piece Chapter 1187, Japanese fans latched onto Luffy declaring "I'm Luffy, the man who's gonna be Pirate King!" while still wearing his Gear 5 "Nika" face — reading it as a sign the goofier persona might finally be stepping back. The thread ran through gripes about the "ahyahya" laugh getting so much backlash it seemingly got dropped, jokes that Im's deadpan "There you are, Joy Boy" delivery has real cartoon-villain energy, and genuine worry that this "final battle" tease can't possibly wrap up 100-plus unsolved mysteries. It all lands on one commenter's blunt verdict on just how long this "final" fight is really going to take.

📖 MangaMangaYouTubeBlue Lock Chapter 351: Japanese Fans React to Isagi & Rin — "Isagi Has the Talent of a No.1 Host"
Blue Lock Chapter 351 puts Isagi Yoichi face-to-face with a benched, furious Rin Itoshi — and instead of the fistfight longtime readers braced for, the two talk it out and end up weirdly, genuinely friendly. Japanese fans couldn't get over it. The most-liked comments circled a few threads: sheer relief that Rin and Isagi are on good terms now ("the old Rin would've turned this straight into a fistfight"); awe at how mature and senpai-like Isagi has become, with many crediting his temple-training arc; and a running gag that Isagi is secretly a "No.1 host" and full-blown demon lord who charms every rival he beats into a devoted fan. Add Kaiser and Ness resurfacing, and the fandom's verdict on the Isagi–Rin dynamic landed on one perfect, backwards word.

📖 MangaMangaYouTubeBlue Lock: Japanese Fans React as Ego's Kawashima Jab Reignites Mid-World Cup — "Then Don't Mock a Real Person"
Blue Lock's coach Ego Jinpachi is at the center of a fresh firestorm among Japanese fans: the manga doesn't just have him trash-talk pros, it drops real Japan national-team goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima's actual name into a mocking line — and it reignited hard right as a real World Cup was trending. The comment section split down the middle: one side insisting "it's just fiction," the other snapping back "then don't drag a real, living person for laughs." From there fans marveled that Blue Lock "catches fire once every four years" whenever soccer trends, needled its other absurdities (players living on rice and pickles, never seeing sunlight), and read the whole thing as proof of the author's personality. The running punchline: comparing it to an Olympic flame that keeps relighting itself.

📖 MangaMangaYouTubeChainsaw Man: Japanese Fans React to the Ending — "Part 1 Wrapped Up So Clean, I Never Expected a Part 2"
When Chainsaw Man's manga wrapped its Part 2 story in June 2026, Japanese readers turned the comment section of a reaction video into a genuine post-mortem of the ending. The most-liked comment argued Part 1 closed so perfectly that Part 2 must have been forced into existence, and the recurring theme was 'the buildup got skipped, but the punchline was fine' — alongside real affection for new character Asa Mitaka and even a wordplay theory defending Tatsuki Fujimoto's ambiguous finale as intentional. Through all of it, one thing barely wavered: readers still trust Fujimoto, whatever he does next.
