Bleach: Japanese Fans Debate Who Should Raise Ichigo's Son — "The Safest Pick Being Grimmjow Is Insane"
“The fact that the SAFEST one out of this whole lineup is Grimmjow is just wrong.”
On Bleach, Japanese fans got stuck on a hypothetical they couldn't drop: if you HAD to hand Ichigo Kurosaki's son Kazui over to a Soul Society or Hueco Mundo figure to raise, who's the safest choice — and who's the most dangerous? The top-liked answer set the tone: the single safest guardian in the entire roster is somehow Grimmjow, a verdict the whole thread agreed was unhinged. The recurring logic was that the scary geniuses are the problem — Aizen would "grow the kid the fastest" but would gleefully drag him along to conquer the Soul King's palace, and Urahara is just too unfathomable to trust — whereas Grimmjow is a rough-but-good-hearted delinquent big-brother who'd let Kazui cut loose in the Hueco Mundo desert. From there it branched into casting different mentors for each discipline (Kido to Aizen, Hakuda to Yoruichi, Flash Step to Byakuya), Ichigo himself crying "why am I not even a candidate?!" and getting roasted, and Don Kanonji floated as the one pick with actual ethics. The punchline everyone kept circling back to: every adult in this manga would be way too excited to teach this child.

The least-bad option being Grimmjow is genuinely messed up lol
The #1 pick is already sketchy, and then everyone from #2 down is straight-up out of the question — make it make sense!!
Well, unlike Aizen and Urahara, whose depths you can never see, Grimmjow is a du— I mean, he's simple.
Grimmjow isn't a master — he's more like the rough, sketchy uncle.
Yeah, he's the uncle who teaches you slightly delinquent grown-up stuff before you're ready.
- @kate-m5r8j👍 15
Deep down he's a caretaking delinquent big-brother type, so the second he finds out it's Ichigo Kurosaki's kid, he'd look after him anyway. The kid probably can't cut loose with his powers in the living world — so why not let him go all out in that Hueco Mundo desert? And the delinquent big bro would be totally hyped to spar with him.
I'm now picturing a scene that doesn't exist: the kid gets sent off to Hueco Mundo with Grimmjow, Grimmjow snaps "don't follow me," the kid trots after him anyway, and Grimmjow ends up looking after him while clicking his tongue the whole time.
- @-aruwoccha2036👍 126
Aizen would probably grow him the fastest — but he'd also cheerfully drag the kid along to go conquer the Soul King's palace, so, hard no.
- @zakodesu444👍 13
Aizen would teach him a bunch of extra, completely unnecessary stuff too lol
- @cholnovelie👍 6
I'll vote Aizen, just because the image of Ichigo standing there horrified while his son spouts smug edgy poetry is too funny.
The most dangerous one is probably Urahara.
- @D.K.-wr4pz👍 8
The fact that he out-dangers even Aizen is killing me lol
Did everyone forget how rough Ichigo had it when Urahara played "master"? That guy never teaches you any of the important parts.
Grimmjow: the Piccolo-type mentor. Aizen: a master you can rely on but can't trust. Urahara: a master you can neither trust nor rely on.
- @tstsuji👍 97
Honestly, Shinji Hirako seems like he'd quietly take really good care of him.
Shinji: "Why am I the one stuck babysitting?!" Hiyori: "Ahahaha! Looks good on you, Shinji!"
The safe picks are around Shinji, Grimmjow, and Byakuya.
If it's Byakuya, then Renji and Rukia would come tagging along too — like, "Brother is training Ichigo's son?!" "We can't just sit here — let's go, Rukia!!"
- @JP-sssy👍 8
Ichigo: "Why am I not even a candidate?!" Everyone: "Bro, you're bad at controlling your own spiritual pressure."
- @rsc3438👍 3
Everyone being unanimous that Ichigo can't be the teacher is sending me lol
Ichigo the dad is the most special-case guy of all, so he could only really be a sparring partner, not a teacher of anything.
- @Makoto0126Sindo👍 14
Zanpakuto handling — Ichigo himself would teach that better than Urahara. Kido is Aizen, that's the consensus read. Hakuda is Yoruichi, and she might even throw in Flash Cry. Flash Step is Byakuya. Fullbring is… I want to say Orihime, but hers is too special, so yeah, it's gotta be Tsukishima.
- @omaeguilty👍 11
Uryu Ishida: teaches him the Quincy arts. Tsukishima: teaches him Fullbring. Given this kid's bloodline, isn't it better to just have several mentors?
- @lakalakalove2👍 1
Tsukishima would cut the training time down by just slicing in a fake memory: "Remember? I taught you this ages ago."
- @umi293👍 10
I'd like to nominate Don Kanonji.
- @notes_0223👍 6
Wasn't someone saying Don Kanonji too? lol (not for the power side — for the ETHICS).
The thing Kazui most needs taught is a normal sense of ethics and a normal understanding of life and death. Whoever can teach THAT has to be the master, or we're in trouble. He's human, but he's seen ghosts since birth and already knows about Soul Reapers, the Soul Society, Hell, Hollows — all of it. So he can't really tell apart who's alive and who's dead. Case in point: he cheerfully sent a Plus spirit to Hell out of pure goodwill.
Toshiro Hitsugaya — he'd teach the kid some common sense.
- @user-mark_11👍 5
Grimmjow… would slowly go from calling him "the Kurosaki brat" to actually using his name. Aizen → would sense the "distortion" in the kid and whisper all kinds of things into his ear. Urahara → please, Yoruichi, Tessai, somebody stop him… Conclusion: help us, Visored.
I want Aizen to casually slip out of Muken, watch Kazui walking home from school with his friends from behind a wall, and mutter "...so it has come even to this..." Then Kazui, who's somehow snuck right up next to him, asks "who are you, mister?" — and Aizen, breaking into a cold sweat that he didn't notice the kid approach, says "I'm a friend of your dad's" and hands him some pocket money. Then he casually returns to Muken to sit alone smirking to himself going "a being of that caliber... what will become of him..."
His blood is such a mix anyway — I want him to learn something from literally everyone, including the people down in Hell, and become the strongest.
- @sonne0153👍 1
Like Goku, let's just swap masters as he levels up: Grimmjow → Urahara → Aizen.
The real problem is every single one of them would be way too excited to teach this kid.
- @ujimusgjdtvjk👍 0
The plot twist where everyone thinks Ichigo or Urahara is his master and marvels at how fast he's growing — only for it to come out that Aizen was secretly tutoring him on the side, and the kid turns evil and waves goodbye from inside a Garganta.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeBleach: Could Ichigo's Son Kazui Become the New Soul King? Japanese Fans React — "He Doesn't Read Like the Next Hero. He Reads Like the Next Villain."
A Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War advance-screening bonus put Ichigo and Orihime's son, Kazui Kurosaki, in the spotlight — and instead of cooing over the next-gen hero, Japanese fans spun it into one of the densest pieces of Bleach speculation in years: could Kazui become a new Soul King? The single most-liked reaction set the tone with an eerie read English fans rarely hear — unlike Boruto, this kid doesn't carry the aura of a sequel hero, he carries the aura of a sequel villain. From there the thread became a lore deep-dive only Japanese fans could give: Kazui inherits ALL of Ichigo's hybrid factors (Human, Soul Reaper, Quincy, Hollow, Fullbring) layered on top of god-tier-Fullbring Orihime, he erased Yhwach's remnants in the final chapter, and the recurring theme was that a kid built like that is basically Soul-King-grade by default. Fans ran with the isekai-light-novel joke ("On the Soul King Reincarnating With Even Greater Talent Than His Past Life"), the JoJo "it suits me perfectly" meme, and a loud "bring the serialization back — honestly only Bleach can save Jump right now" chorus. Then one sharp-eyed reader landed the detail that reframed everything: Kazui has the Soul King's FOUR eyes, not Ichigo's five.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeWhat's the Best Gunpla Kit Ever Made? Japanese Builders Weigh In — "So YOU Claim It's Perfect? Don't Make Me Laugh, You Commoner."
Asked which Gunpla (Gundam plastic model) kit is the single best-engineered one ever made, Japanese builders did what any good hobby community does: they refused to agree, and the thread turned into a gloriously nerdy roundtable instead. The most-liked picks tell you a lot about what Japanese modelers actually prize — and it isn't always the flagship. The runaway crowd-pleaser is "the HG (High Grade) Zeon 'swimming club' kits," the affectionate nickname for Zeon's amphibious mobile suits, praised for low part-counts and budget pricing while punching way above their weight on poseability and proportions. "The HG Gundam Aerial" from The Witch from Mercury gets love on the principle that "the protagonist's mobile suit always gets the most effort," with one builder calling its all-new tech "flat-out brilliant." "The MG (Master Grade) Narrative Gundam Ver.Ka" earns a flat "everything about it is too perfect," "the HGUC Gustav Karl" gets singled out for cleverly balancing proportion and range of motion through smart gimmicks, and the budget kings — "the HG Genoace" and the AGE Federation line — win the "cheap, moves well, great molded-in color separation" vote. There's wholesome shop talk too: a confession about a shield that's a pain to paint inside, a fragile shield-arm joint, and a lot of old-timers marveling at how far the hobby has come. And then someone shows up to put the Narrative fanboy in his place with one perfectly haughty Gundam-villain quote.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeJujutsu Kaisen Season 4 (Culling Game) PV: Japanese Fans React — "Sorry, Yuji, but I LOVE the face you make when you despair"
The Season 4 PV for Jujutsu Kaisen — MAPPA's adaptation of the Culling Game (死滅回游) arc — dropped, and the top Japanese reactions zeroed in on the fight the fandom has been waiting years for: Hakari vs Kashimo. The most-liked comment is a manga reader cheerfully admitting he can't wait for the suffering to start ("the Yuji-torture accelerates from here"), and that gallows-humor anticipation set the tone for the whole thread. The recurring themes were pure hype: relief that Hakari's broken Domain "wasn't nerfed," fan theories about the color of his cursed energy shifting as his odds climb, awe at MAPPA's insane workload (they're making Chainsaw Man at the same time — and once juggled this AND Attack on Titan), and surprisingly sharp art-direction takes contrasting Part 1's deliberately grimy look with this PV's brighter, cleaner color. And at the very end, the PV flashes the 契闊 ("Keikatsu") scene one more time — a quiet gut-punch that manga readers immediately clocked as MAPPA twisting the knife.

📺 AnimeAnimeYouTubeWhy Kaiju No. 8 Never Caught Fire in Japan: Japanese Fans React — "They Made a Mediocre Story... Mediocre."
Kaiju No. 8 was one of the biggest manga launches of its era — 14 million copies in print, a glossy Production I.G anime, an OP by an internationally famous band. So Western fans are often surprised to learn it left a lot of Japanese readers cold. This reaction thread, built around a Japanese fan-critic's video literally titled "Why didn't the Kaiju No. 8 anime catch on," is one of the bluntest looks you'll find at that homegrown disappointment. The recurring themes: that the genuinely great opening hook — a middle-aged ex-kaiju-cleanup worker using his cleanup know-how to fight monsters — got quietly abandoned the moment Kafka joined the Defense Force; that these "kaiju" feel less like Godzilla and more like talking, human-sized people in monster suits; that the much-memed "left elbow, right elbow" copy-paste panel became a punchline; and that fans kept name-dropping a different manga, Rai Rai Rai, as "the Kaiju No. 8 we actually wanted." The most quietly devastating line in the whole thread isn't even an insult — it's a correction to the video's own title.
