Bleach: Fans Debate Who Should Raise Ichigo's Son Kazui — Grimmjow Wins, Somehow

On Bleach, Japanese fans got stuck on a hypothetical they couldn't drop: if you HAD to hand Ichigo Kurosaki's son Kazui over to a Soul Society or Hueco Mundo figure to raise, who's the safest choice — and who's the most dangerous? Across 201 comments, the top-liked answer (368 likes) set the tone: the single safest guardian in the entire roster is somehow Grimmjow, a verdict the whole thread agreed was unhinged. The recurring logic was that the scary geniuses are the problem — Aizen would "grow the kid the fastest" but would gleefully drag him along to conquer the Soul King's palace, and Urahara is just too unfathomable to trust — whereas Grimmjow is a rough-but-good-hearted delinquent big-brother who'd let Kazui cut loose in the Hueco Mundo desert. From there it branched into casting different mentors for each discipline (Kido to Aizen, Hakuda to Yoruichi, Flash Step to Byakuya), Ichigo himself crying "why am I not even a candidate?!" and getting roasted, and Don Kanonji floated as the one pick with actual ethics.

So a Japanese Bleach reaction channel threw out a hypothetical, and the comment section basically never let it go: if you HAD to hand Ichigo's son Kazui over to one character from Soul Society or Hueco Mundo to raise him, who's actually safe — and who's a walking disaster? It's a silly question on paper, but Bleach's cast is packed with borderline-unhinged geniuses, so it turns out there's a real answer. Out of 201 comments, the top pick everyone landed on was the last name you'd expect.

The fact that the SAFEST one out of this whole lineup is Grimmjow is just wrong.

Yeah, that's the consensus pick, and once you hear the reasoning it kind of tracks. Grimmjow isn't scheming anything — he's just a blunt, straightforward brawler who'd let the kid run wild in the Hueco Mundo desert and call it parenting. Compare that to the actual geniuses in this cast, and the "safe" bar drops fast.

Well, unlike Aizen and Urahara, whose depths you can never see, Grimmjow is a du— I mean, he's simple.

That comparison is exactly where the thread went next — straight to the two guys everyone actually worries about. Aizen gets credit for being the fastest teacher in the building, which is precisely the problem, because "fastest" and "safest" turn out to be two very different questions.

Aizen would probably grow him the fastest — but he'd also cheerfully drag the kid along to go conquer the Soul King's palace, so, hard no.

The most dangerous one is probably Urahara.

  • Aizen would teach him a bunch of extra, completely unnecessary stuff too lol👍18
  • The fact that he out-dangers even Aizen is killing me lol👍11
Grimmjow: the Piccolo-type mentor. Aizen: a master you can rely on but can't trust. Urahara: a master you can neither trust nor rely on.

Somewhere in the middle of all that ranking, though, one name kept coming up as a genuinely GOOD pick, no asterisks attached and no scheme running underneath it.

Honestly, Shinji Hirako seems like he'd quietly take really good care of him.

  • Shinji: "Why am I the one stuck babysitting?!" Hiyori: "Ahahaha! Looks good on you, Shinji!"👍16

Meanwhile, one name got voted out almost instantly, and it's the one you'd assume was a lock for the job: Ichigo himself. Turns out being the strongest guy in the room doesn't automatically make you a good teacher.

Ichigo: "Why am I not even a candidate?!" Everyone: "Bro, you're bad at controlling your own spiritual pressure."

  • Everyone being unanimous that Ichigo can't be the teacher is sending me lol👍4

From there some commenters got genuinely thorough about it, treating this like an actual staffing problem — splitting Kazui's training out discipline by discipline instead of just picking one guardian to handle everything.

Zanpakuto handling — Ichigo himself would teach that better than Urahara. Kido is Aizen, that's the consensus read. Hakuda is Yoruichi, and she might even throw in Flash Cry. Flash Step is Byakuya. Fullbring is… I want to say Orihime, but hers is too special, so yeah, it's gotta be Tsukishima.

  • I'd like to nominate Don Kanonji.👍17
  • Wasn't someone saying Don Kanonji too? lol (not for the power side — for the ETHICS).👍8

But after 201 comments of ranking safest to most dangerous, splitting up disciplines, and voting Ichigo off his own kid's team, one reply summed up the actual problem better than any of it.

The real problem is every single one of them would be way too excited to teach this kid.

And honestly, that's the whole thread in one line — every adult in this manga, hero or villain, would be way too hyped to get their hands on this kid.

FAQ

What's the hypothetical fans are debating?
The video poses a what-if: if Ichigo Kurosaki's son Kazui had to be handed over to one Soul Society or Hueco Mundo character to raise, who's actually safe to trust with him, and who's a walking disaster waiting to happen.
Who did the top comment pick as the safest guardian, and why did that surprise people?
The most-liked comment (368 likes) named Grimmjow as the safest choice out of everyone. Commenters found it funny because Grimmjow is an Arrancar and former villain — but they agreed his simple, non-scheming personality actually makes him less risky than the series' calculating geniuses.
Who do commenters consider the most dangerous potential guardian?
A highly-liked comment (122 likes) names Urahara as the most dangerous pick, arguing his motives are too unreadable to trust — even riskier, in the thread's view, than Aizen, who at least wants the kid to grow strong (before dragging him off to conquer the Soul King's palace).
