A Mushoku Tensei analysis channel broke down three official motives behind Hitogami's advice — the whispering "Man-God" who keeps nudging protagonist Rudeus toward decisions that look helpful but are secretly meant to steer fate against the hero Orsted. Across 161 comments, fans didn't stop at three reasons: one heavily-liked breakdown (481 likes) listed the specific in-story evidence behind each motive, and a reply pushed the theory even further with five additional goals. A separate running joke took over a chunk of the thread comparing Hitogami's in-anime character design to a pain-relief patch brand, while others pointed out the darkest irony of all — his manipulation accidentally engineered Rudeus's own happy ending. It ends with someone noting that Hitogami's last piece of advice, if followed exactly, would have gotten someone killed.
