Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 9, "Wailing," has Cliff confront the Dragon God Perugius over his refusal to help Nanahoshi, demanding he act — only for Perugius to calmly quote Cliff's own Milis Church teachings back at him and shut the argument down. Across 298 comments on the official scene-playback clip, the top comment (2,092 likes) admits the exchange was tense enough to be nervous-making given how disrespectfully Cliff was speaking to a legendary hero, while a close second (1,216 likes) points out Perugius's own attendants visibly dropping their guard stances one by one as the conversation soured. From there the thread splits between admiring Cliff's willingness to fight for a friend even against someone far stronger, and admiring Perugius for staying composed enough to answer an insult with scripture instead of force. By the end, most commenters land on the same read: Cliff lost the debate on logic, but the scene is really about what his outburst reveals about him.
