He can read presence and detect aura at the same time, so he's strong enough to clock someone as a Nen user even while they're in Zetsu. Combine that with reading killing intent and he could probably sense danger on pure instinct from a hostile Nen Beast or ability, too.

Togashi's always been someone whose character designs drift over time, though. Chrollo alone has gone from looking like L'Arc-en-Ciel's Hyde to looking like Hiroyuki.

I think Hisoka's senses are just cranked all the way up right now — he vaguely picked up that there's something above him and that Tsuriel's there. Then he looked at her the same way he looked at Gon after Gon stole that plate: like she's ‘not ripe enough to fight yet,’ so he let it go.
