With Spirit Ashes it's pretty soft up until the DLC. Without them it's some of the hardest FromSoft has ever made. And those random mobs with poise rivaling DLC bosses can perish.

Felt that. I figured I'd do a strength run to brush up, but I keep crouching when I mean to sprint, and I've startled myself off cliffs to my death — I need rehab.

I thought the Tarnished Edition just added some Torrent tack, but if it adds new starting classes, that means whole new builds we never had before… okay, this might actually be a different conversation.
