On the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake trailer, longtime Japanese fans went deep on the details — pointing out that this is somehow the first RE-engine game where you actually play AS Chris Redfield, and waiting "since RE5" for him to lead a game again. From there the thread rolled through speculation that the original opening may get relocated to mid-game, Chris's noticeably beefier build (before he 'gorilla'-fies), hype for Claire's escape and Chris's cliff-climb, a long tug-of-war over whether Steve Burnside finally gets a happy ending or stays canon-tragic, plus HUNK and Wesker theories tied to Rockfort Island. The mood: knowledgeable, hyped, and gleefully nitpicky — capped by a landlady's line about Chris's trashed apartment that fans couldn't stop quoting.
