Chainsmoker Cat's official channel dropped the trailer for its Episode 12 finale on September 23, titled (in a fittingly dumb pun) "Nya Still Smokes Even in the Finale, Nya." Within a day the clip pulled in more than 1,400 comments and 7,700-plus likes, and the top comment — a blunt three-word demand for a Season 2 — has racked up over 2,800 likes on its own. Almost none of the top comments are actually about the episode itself. Instead the section splits between commenters mourning the end of their weekly ritual, others betting the show's future on Blu-ray and merch sales, and a smaller thread of fans who briefly forget which 2026 cigarette-themed anime they're even watching. By the end, one commenter jokes about wanting the world's most improbable long-runner: an anime about a cat whose whole premise is famously short odds of a long life.
