Honkai: Star Rail's Amphoreus Arc Leaves Players Asking If Everyone Dies

Honkai: Star Rail's Amphoreus arc left Japanese players reeling, and the comment section under one screaming reaction Short reads like a group grief-counseling session. The most-liked replies aren't analysis — they're survivors. One player describes shrieking "wait, does the story really kill EVERYONE??" while ugly-crying; another calls the quiet phrase "see you tomorrow" (また明日) "the trauma of every single Star Rail player." Death after death lands — Mydei, Tribbie, Cyrene — until people stop processing it as tragedy and start laughing just to stay upright. That's where the very-Japanese coping instinct takes over: an abrupt "BEETLE!" outburst that the whole thread quotes back at each other, multiple players swearing the Trailblazer's scream sounds exactly like Present Mic from My Hero Academia, and a running joke that the writer (nicknamed "Yakitori") promised "a story full of sunlight" — to which everyone replies, "WHERE." The thread keeps circling one honest admission: "if you don't crack jokes like this, you genuinely can't get through this story." It closes on the bittersweet truth underneath all the memes — that the joking is how they survive being gutted, and they wouldn't trade the pain.
