Star Fox on Switch 2: The Beloved 'Gomen-chai!' Catchphrase Got Cut

On the Switch 2 version of Star Fox, Japanese fans reacted by zeroing in on exactly what changed from Star Fox 64. The single most-debated point: the cutesy "Gomen-chai!" ("sowwy!") voice line getting cut. From there the thread argues Fox got Westernized — he lost the polite, earnest-hero feel of 64 and now reads like a cocky modern kid, and people miss the punchy "Mission Complete" delivery. The mood is nostalgic and split, "good and bad, but it's a different beast from 64" — with one fan landing on why the new Fox might actually be the right call.
