• Contrary is named after the amanojaku, a folklore demon — and there are actually a fair few legends of it mimicking bird calls, so there IS a reason a bird Pokémon would get Contrary.

• I used to run a strat where Speed Boost Scolipede set up Iron Defense and Baton Passed it to a Shell Armor holder — so when I saw Mega Scolipede's Ability I thought I was misreading it.

• The fun part of Mega Pyroar's tuning: for fire firepower it's Mega Charizard Y > Pyroar > Mega Mawile, and for Speed it's Mega Mawile > Pyroar > Charizard Y — they really balanced the fire Megas against each other.

But in this clip — shared by Japanese creator Sekai Ojisan — the hider does the exact opposite of hiding: he juke-dances around the 'stop man' seeker with pinpoint emote-cancels, and Japanese fans lost it.   Why Japanese Anime Keeps Winning: What Japan's Own Comment Sections Give Away

  Ask why Japanese anime is so hard to beat and the answer usually comes back as a pile of nouns. Budgets. Sakuga. I spend my nights reading and translating Japanese comment sections, a few thousand at a time, and from that side of the glass the answer sits much further upstream. Not in the show you streamed. In everything that got cut before it ever reached you. That part never shows up on a timeline.
