Summer 2026 Anime Fan Poll: Jaadugar Wins No. 1, Record Votes
A Japanese anime review channel's season-ending fan poll for Summer 2026 has crowned Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia the season's top show, with Draw This, Then Die! taking second and Though I Am an Inept Villainess placing third. The vote drew over 600 participants, the channel's largest turnout ever, and the comment section spent far more time reacting to the results than arguing with them. Across 269 comments, several viewers who initially doubted Jaadugar because of its art style say they came around after actually watching it, and one comment even notes that the show's own creator showed up to react to the results. The discussion also digs into what made the rest of the top five stand out, from Draw This, Then Die!'s scrappy charm to Though I Am an Inept Villainess's small on-screen touches for foreign viewers trying to keep character names straight. By the end, even commenters who disagreed with parts of the ranking admit it was one of the deepest seasons in recent memory.

Summer 2026 Anime: The Three-Episode Drop Rankings, With Jaadugar on Top
A Japanese critique channel ran its "three-episode drop tournament" for Summer 2026 — which shows survived episode three, which got cut — and across 245 comments the top one (57 likes) is a small masterclass on why Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia keeps topping these lists: episodes 1–2 dub the Mongolian dialogue because Sitara can't understand it, and from episode 3, once she can, it switches to Japanese. That kind of noticing runs through the whole thread. Commenters describe getting chills when Sitara's face settles into a resolved smile mid-conversation in episode 3 — "the moment a girl became the witch who would throw Mongolia into chaos" — and several admit they nearly skipped the show entirely because the soft art style read as a kids' history primer. Draw This, Then Die! gets the same defense ("a perfect example of why you don't judge by the art or the title"), Reiwa no Dara-san is praised for actually committing to horror under the gags, and Hell Mode keeps pulling people back to binge season one. The drops are just as specific — one viewer got motion sick and quit a heavy-knight isekai two episodes in — and the thread ends on the most self-aware complaint about seasonal anime you'll read this year.

Draw This, Then Die! Episodes 2-3: Fans Call It Summer 2026's Hidden Hegemon
Across 181 comments on a Japanese anime-review channel's episode roundup, fans are building a genuine case that Draw This, Then Die! — a quiet manga-drawing coming-of-age story — deserves a seat at the table for Summer 2026's "hegemon" (season champion) title. The top comment (37 likes) says its author ugly-cried through both episodes 2 and 3 and worries the show is "absolutely being buried" under this season's flashier titles. The recurring theme is how hard the show hits despite modest character designs: commenters trace the tears back to the teacher character's backstory of genuine passion for manga, the students' own clumsy first attempts at drawing, and a title-payoff moment in episode 3 that several fans call "no joke." A side thread praises voice actor Akira Sekine, who's also playing Sitara in Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia this season, as this season's stealth MVP. It closes on a comment that quietly ties the whole thread back together: even the opening theme, fans say, is hegemon-tier.
