106 likesWhy Everyone Is Cold to Shinji in Evangelion 3.0: Japan's Answer
A Japanese analysis channel devoted a whole video to the question that has followed Evangelion 3.0 since release: why does every adult around Shinji treat him as a threat instead of telling him what happened while he was gone? The channel's read is that the cast never explains anything and leads with emotion instead. Across 191 comments the thread turned into a trial with named defendants. The most-liked reply, at 106 likes, skips the analysis and hands down a verdict on Misato. Others argue the story keeps demanding adult composure from a fourteen-year-old, while one commenter pushes back that civilians who lost their families can't be expected to feel gratitude. The uploader steps into his own comment section to split the cast into people who witnessed what Shinji did and people who only saw the aftermath. And then somebody reframes Shinji's entire situation with a piece of Japanese internet slang, the channel fires back in a character's voice, and the argument ends in a way nobody planned.
