  Ask why Japanese anime is so hard to beat and the answer usually comes back as a pile of nouns. Budgets. Sakuga. I spend my nights reading and translating Japanese comment sections, a few thousand at a time, and from that side of the glass the answer sits much further upstream. Not in the show you streamed. In everything that got cut before it ever reached you. That part never shows up on a timeline.
