Chainsmoker Cat: Japanese Fans React — "That Pulse Would Actually Kill You"

The official Chainsmoker Cat channel dropped a clip on July 29 called "組長ぉぉぉぉぉぉっ!" — roughly "THE BOOOOSS!!" — and by the time the 346 comments settled, almost every single one of them was arguing about the same ten seconds of footage: a recurring human character nicknamed "the Boss" gets wheeled into a hospital-style scene with his heart monitor flatlining, only for the numbers to come roaring back to life in a way that makes it obvious heart failure isn't actually what's spiking. It's the kind of gag the show has built a whole reputation on: play a scene dead straight until the punchline turns out to be something nobody in the room asked for.

The show plays the monitor completely straight, right up until the joke lands: the Boss's vitals aren't spiking because he's fighting for his life, they're spiking for a much sillier reason, and the comments picked up on it almost instantly.

From there the thread moved on to the scene's single biggest comment by a wide margin: a serving robot, apparently at a family restaurant, that casually informs a man who is very much still alive that he's dying.

By the end, commenters had mostly stopped worrying about the Boss and started arguing about the physics of his recovery instead — a punctured heart shouldn't just come back online, and everyone knew it. It says something about the show's track record that nobody in the replies bothered asking whether it made sense; the only real question was how many jokes the comment section could squeeze out of it before moving on.
