Her training arc is pretty important. Its in the novel after all. Then we still gotta go through Rudeus making the Armor.

補足すると「上着が剣聖位に達した剣士の証」というのは、エリスが剣の聖地を発つ直前に原作でも触れられてる。ただ作者は今回のエピソードで「その上着を作るには、生徒自身が獣を狩って毛皮を取ってくる必要がある」という設定を膨らませたんだ
To be fair, the jackets were mentioned as a symbol of status for Swordsmen that reach the Saint rank just before Eris leaves the Sword Sanctuary but the author did expand in this episode that the student needs to go and hunt the beast to get a pelt for the jacket.

Jacket was for King rank, not for Saints, that's why Eris got her jacker right after she officially became King.

これは原作からの引用（訳が悪かった可能性はあるが）。「今日、その広場の、あの館の入り口近くに、剣士の装いの女が立っていた。軽装のシャツと黒のズボンは明らかに機動性重視。その上に、剣神流の剣聖に与えられる伝統の外套を羽織っていた」。この訳が正しければ、上着は剣神流で剣聖位に達した証だ。エリスが剣王になったときに剣神から贈られたのは、コレクションの剣のほう。ギレーヌの剣も剣神からの贈り物だとアルマンフィ戦で言ってたから、剣帝の2人も剣王昇格時に剣を贈られたと見ていい
@PierwszyShiokage this is a quote from the novel. Maybe it was badly translated. "Today, a woman in swordsman’s clothes stood in that field, near the entrance to that hall. Her light shirt and black pants were clearly chosen with mobility in mind. Over these, she wore the traditional overcoat granted to Sword Saints of the Sword God Style." But if it was translated correctly then the Jacket is a symbol of the Swordsman reaching Saint Rank in the Sword God Style. When Eris reached King Rank, the Sword God gifted her with a sword from his collection. Ghislaine's sword was also a gift from the Sword God, she said do when she fought Arumanfi so we could assume the two Sword Emperors also had swords giften to them when they became Sword Kings.

I mean he did plan to start writing the sequel once the Anime ends, so yeah I think he's pretty much involved with the Anime.

理不尽な孫の手がここまで現場主義なことに驚いてる人が多いけど、彼が「誰がこのラノベをアニメ化するのか」に納得するまで、長いことアニメ化権を渡さなかったのを忘れてないか。最初から最後まで完走してくれて、毎期どこかで見る使い回し量産型異世界とは違う高品質の作品にしてくれるスタジオを望んでたんだ。スタジオ自体がほぼ無職転生のために存在してるようなもので（『カラクリ』を数話やってたくらい）、他作品とアニメーターやスタッフを共有していない。しかも理不尽な孫の手本人もアニメ化に関わってると示唆されてた。つまり手抜きが減って、より原作に忠実になる。だから本当に見事な作品になるんだよ
People seemed to be surprised how Rifujin is so hands on that they forgot that he withheld the Anime rights to a studio for so long until he was satisfied on who's going to adapt the LN. He wanted it to be on a studio that will finish it from start to finish and also giving out a high quality show and not the same studios your recycled Isekai you randomly see every season. The studio itself was mostly for MT(they did some episodes on Karakuri) but it was used mainly for MT, unlike other series that shares it's animators and employees across different shows. Not to mention it was implied that Rifujin is also hands on the adaptation. So it means less cutting corners and more faithful adaptation. Which makes for a truly splendid show.

This is peak adaptation, yes they remove very few details from the light novel but add extra scene like this in the anime.

原作既読勢として言うと、あのパートは本当にエピソードを良くしてた。初めてラノベを読破したシリーズだから「既読のせいで今後のシーズンがつまらなくなったらどうしよう」って怖かったけど、アニメは今でも最高だ
As an ln reader, that part really did add to the episode, this was the first series where I read the light novels and was scared it might ruin the upcoming seasons for me but the show is still great
