The single gerbera Reze is holding at the end has a flower meaning of "love at first sight" and "you are my destiny"... which makes you think that's exactly why she didn't kill Denji the first time they met.

The story starts with Denji coughing up a flower and meeting Reze, and ends with Denji eating one. That symmetry is gorgeous.

The punchline itself was fine, but they skipped way too much of the buildup. I thought King Crimson had erased my memory of it or something

The Assassins Arc proper is exactly volumes 7-8, up to Kishibe's "I don't wanna see anything anymore" line. That's too long for a movie but too short for a TV cour, and the Denji-Power scene at the start of volume 9 can't really be a season 4, so honestly the best move is to make it a TV anime and tack the volume 9 stuff onto it.

実際資格編として取扱されてるのは7巻から８巻ピッタリで岸辺のもう何も見たくねぇのところまでなんだけど映画にするにしては長いしアニメにしては少ないし、9巻冒頭の話のデンパワのシーンは4期としてやれないから、アニメにして9巻のところもくっつけてくるのがいいな

Makima only ever looked at Pochita — at Chainsaw Man — but Reze was looking at *Denji*. That contrast wrecks me too.
