手塚治虫の名作『リボンの騎士』を原案にしたNetflixアニメ『The Ribbon Hero』の予告編に、海外ファンから予想外の反応が殺到した。リボンをつけたヒロインを見て『東方Projectの博麗霊夢だ』と勘違いする人が続出し、コメント欄は霊夢ネタと東方ファンで埋め尽くされる事態に。そこから『これ1950年代の漫画が原作らしい』『作者は鉄腕アトムの人＝手塚治虫だ』という“発見”が連鎖し、『どろろ』や『PLUTO』と同じ再解釈路線だと腑に落ちる流れへ。さらに『少女革命ウテナ』『ベルばら』や魔法少女もの（マミさん）のルーツをたどる議論にも広がり、亡き巨匠への敬意もあふれた。最後は名作ラッシュの今年を喜ぶ上機嫌な一言で締まる。

ちょっと補足な。この作品は同名漫画『リボンの騎士』が原案で、『鉄腕アトム』とかと同じ作者の手によるもの。ただし原作の“アニメ化”じゃなくて、原作にインスパイアされた再構築＝原作へのオマージュって位置づけだ
Just putting a little detail. This story is a inspiration from the manga of same name Ribbon no Kishi, from the same author of Astro Boy, etc. This story is not a adaptation of the original work, it's just a reimagination and inpired original work and also a homage to the original work.

手塚作品って当時としては明らかに傑作なんだけど、あのディズニー的でカートゥーン寄りの絵柄は今の時代だとちょっと厳しいんだよな。だから忠実なアニメ化じゃなく、これや『どろろ』(2019)みたいな再解釈になるわけ
The thing with Tezuka's works is that they're obviously amazing for their time, but his Disney-like cartoonish style doesn't really hold up well today. So that's why we get reimaginings like this and Dororo (2019) instead of faithful adaptations.

そうそう、どっちかというと『PLUTO』に近い。あれは浦沢直樹(『MONSTER』の作者)が『鉄腕アトム』を再解釈したやつな
yeah its more in the lines of Pluto that is a reinterpretation of Astro boy by Naoki Urasawa(Mangaka for MONSTER)

これ、『少女革命ウテナ』や『ベルサイユのばら』の匂いがめちゃくちゃする。まあ『リボンの騎士』はその後何十年もの間、漫画・アニメ界の本当に大勢の人に影響を与えた作品だから、当然っちゃ当然なんだけどな
I'm getting strong Revolutionary Girl Utena and Rose of Versaiiles vibes from this one, which I suppose is only natural given that the Princess Knight manga was an inspiration for many, many people in manga and anime circles during the decades that followed.

というより『リボンの騎士』の方がマミさんにかなり直接的な影響を与えてる側だぞ。この原作漫画は『まどマギ』よりずっと前の作品なんだから
More like Princess Knight is pretty directly an inspiration for Mami. The manga this is based on significantly predates madoka.

原作の『リボンの騎士』は見たことも読んだこともないから比較とかじゃないんだけど、これ、めちゃくちゃ良さそうじゃん
I've never seen or read the original Princess Knight, so this isn't a comparison or anything, but this looks AMAZING.
