  This broke me into a million pieces... AND I WAS SICK! THIS DID NOT HELP 😭💔 I knew this backstory would be rough.. but this was straight up unbearable.   I love that Luffy didn't care, he just wanted to save his crew mate because they are his family and his crew followed too. Absolute Peak🙌

  ロビンが『生きたい』って言った後にゾロがやったの、『金打（きんちょう）』っていう作法。刀を少し抜いて鞘に戻し、鍔を打ち鳴らすだけの動作だけど、意味は『この命に懸けて誓う』ってこと。

  What Zoro did after Robin said "she want to live" is called "金打 - kinchō", push the sword out then put it back and knock the cross guard. The act is simple but means "I use my life to promise you."

  ゾロ、あの瞬間まで実は彼女を完全には信用してなかったんだと思う。だからこそ全部腑に落ちた。刀を少し抜いてまた収めるあの仕草は、侍の誓いの作法なんだよな。

  I don't think Zoro fully trusted her until that moment. That's why it all finally made sense to him. And how Zoro drew his sword slightly and put it back in, is how a Samurai makes a promise.

  ソゲキングがあの旗を撃ち抜いたの、痺れるほどクールだった。迷い一切なし、友達を助けるためなら世界政府相手に戦争も辞さない男がそこにいた。ウソップ本人がそれを見れなかったのが惜しい。

  ルフィがソゲキングに旗を撃ち落とせと命じて、ウソップが一瞬の躊躇もなく撃つ場面、鳥肌が止まらなかった。世界政府は海賊を相手にしてるつもりが、実は『家族』を敵に回してたんだって思い知らされる。そしてロビンの『生きたい！』の絶叫、これぞ至高のフィクション😭❤️

  The absolute chills when Luffy orders Sogeking to shoot down the flag, and Usopp doesn't hesitate for a single microsecond. The World Government thought they were dealing with pirates, but they realized they're dealing with a family. Robin screaming 'I want to live!' is peak fiction !! 😭❤️

  ドラム島でヒルルク先生の旗を落とさせなかったルフィのエピソードを持ち出すの、上手い着眼点。ルフィは旗の重みを誰よりも理解してる。だからこそ政府の旗を撃ち落とせと命じたのは、これ以上ないくらい意図的な侮辱なんだよな。

  Very smart of you to bring up the moment on Drum Island when Luffy refused to let Dr. Hiriluk's flag fall. Luffy very much understands how important flags are, and him telling Sogeking to shoot down the government's flag is Luffy being has intentionally disrespectful as possible.

  『生きたい！！！』のシーンでみんな心が折れた。このアーク一本で『ワンピースは名作』だと確信した人、めちゃくちゃ多いと思う。

  "I WANT TO LIVE!!!" broke everyone. This arc cemented ONE PIECE as a Masterpiece for so many people.

  うん、ここまでの中で『ルフィ、助けて』と『生きたい！！！』は、感情的インパクトが最も大きい二大名場面だと思う。

  Yeah, up to this point in the series I'd say, "Luffy, help me" and "I WANT TO LIVE!!!" are two of the most impactful/emotional moments.

  1:11:21、『笑いながら泣く』ってまさにワンピースを一言で表してる。実際この作品では同じことをするキャラが何度も出てくる。サウロはその最初の一人に過ぎない。

  1:11:21 "Laughing and sobbing at the same time" is basically One Piece in a nutshell. To the extent that you'll find Oda including characters doing precisely that multiple times in this story. Saul is just the first.

  ルフィが『助かりたくない人間は救えない』を貫いてるの、本当に好き。ナミを救った時もそうだった。本人が助けを求めるまで待つことで、相手自身の意思と人生の主導権を取り戻させてる。 あと『火』のイメージの使い方も見事。オハラが燃やされて以来ロビンをずっと苦しめてきたその同じ映像が、今度は圧政への反逆の象徴に転換される――政府から火の制御権を奪い返して彼女を救う。映像面での最高の演出。

  I love how much Luffy lives by: 'You can't save someone that doesn't want to be saved'. It's what saved Nami in the past too. By holding off until they themselves ask for his interference, he helps them regain agency and control over their own lives. Also, the symbolism of using fire imagery (the same visuals that have plagued Robin since Ohara was burned to the ground) to now symbolize revolt against her oppressors-- siezing control of fire from the government and instead using it to save her, is just peak visual storytelling.

  幼いロビンの『お母さんなの？』が毎回トラックに撥ねられたみたいにキツい。何回見ても涙をこらえきれない。
