    I would never do that. Mostly because I used to rely on that person to have a home and food. Why the heck would I snitch if my life is just going to be made 100x worse.

  • 声が潰れない人は単に吸ってる量が足りないだけだと思う。本人は「結構吸ってる」つもりでも、何年も1日60本吸ってる人には遠く及ばない。もしくは遺伝的にラッキーな超レアケースだけど、そんなの少数すぎて一般論には入れなくていいレベル

    Those who don't get ruined voices are just not smoking enough. You think they smoke a lot, but it's probably nowhere close to SIXTY cigarettes a day for years. Or it's a complete outlier, one of those winners in the genetic lottery, but they're so few that, as always, they're not worth including when generalizing.

  • 自分は大麻以外吸ったことないし依存症でもないけど、最初は「依存症猫娘のギャグアニメでしょ」くらいに思って見始めたのに、実際見たら「あ、待って、これ結構リアル路線でやってる、思ったほど笑えるものじゃない」ってなった感覚を覚えてる。この猫たちの中に、実生活で知ってた人たちを少し誇張しただけのバージョンを見つけてしまう——特にヤニねことその姉の関係性は、今は亡き自分の兄との関係を思い出させる。 正直、Chainsmoker Catは自分が今まで見てきたどのD.A.R.E.の禁煙CMよりも効果があると思う

    I've never smoked anything other than weed, or been a junkie, but I remember how I felt watching what I thought was gonna be a silly series about addict catgirls being played for laughs, then after actually watching the series being like "Oh, wait a minute, they're going realistic with this, this isn't as funny as I thought it would be." I'm recognizing only slightly exaggerated versions of people I knew IRL in these cat women — especially the whole dynamic between Yani Neko and her sister, which reminds me of how me and my now late brother were. Honestly Chainsmoker Cat is genuinely more effective than anything D.A.R.E. did in anti-smoking commercials I watched throughout my life.

  • 大麻は「所詮大麻だし」って油断してるうちに気づけば依存してるパターンが多い。自分がやばいって気づいたのは、カーペットをかき分けて、同じグラインダーを30分こすって一服分をなんとかかき集めようとしてた時だった

    People tend to let weed sneak up on them specifically because it is "just weed." I realized I had a problem when I was picking through my carpet and scraping the same grinder for thirty minutes to try and get one bowl's worth of something smokable.

  • 正直、第1話ラストで主人公が泣くシーンと、アル中の猫娘があわや死にかけるシーン——友達がギリギリのタイミングで来てなかったら本当に死んでた——は結構キツかった

    Not gonna lie, seeing the main character cry at the end of the first episode, and the alcoholic catgirl nearly dying — she really could have died if her friend hadn't come just at the right time — hit me hard.

  • アニメ・漫画は薬物描写に関して（作家の自主規制なども含めて）厳しい検閲下にあることが多い、日本の非常に保守的な文化のせいでね。もしあれがヘロインのつもりなら、あの見た目は検閲の結果だと思う（他のことは規制されてないのにそこだけって、確かにおかしな話だけど）

    Anime and manga tend to be under strict censorship (whether self-censorship by the artist or otherwise), particularly about the depiction of drugs, due to Japan's extremely conservative culture. If this was meant to be heroin, its appearance was probably due to censorship (I know, crazy that was censored but not the other stuff).

  • 元アルコール依存症8年＋現役ヘビースモーカーとして言うけど、このアニメはガチで的確だと保証する。あと音響も100%正確——安物ライターの音だけじゃなく、最初の一服の後の唇のポップ音まで再現されてる

    As a former alcohol addict for 8 years and still a heavy smoker, I can confirm this anime is on point. And yes, the sound design is 100% accurate — not only the cheap lighter, but that lip pop after the first drag as well.

  • でもメビウス（タバコ銘柄）が公式ブランドの使用を許可してるあたり、そこまでChainsmoker Catを嫌ってはいなさそう

    I don't think they hate Chainsmoker Cat that much, considering that Mevius is letting them use their official branding in the anime.
