I reckon Reid knows that Subarus RBD means he might be able to give Reid a challenge, given enough tries. Since he only cares about fun, hunting down someone with time travelling plot armour is a pretty fun challenge.

"For some reason he has a hard on for Subaru" I think the reason is quite obvious no? Reid has gluttony's memories and knows that Subaru has return by death and he is literally repulsed by the idea of ts so much that he says "Disgusting" and he's just like "Fuck you pal gg next round"

basically from what i know Reid is aware of RBD and sees its use by Subaru as the antithesis to what he believes in. its basically like if Reid believes he can overcome any obstacle no matter what, and that’s part of why he took over Roy instead of losing himself, then Return By Death is to him a cowardly method of fighting as Subaru essentially concedes he can’t win by going with the mindset he will always die. that’s why he hates him, and i think its intriguing Reid knows killing Subaru will just reset him but he does it anyways.

From watching the episode reid kept going on about how subaru "wasnt using his sword" or "wasnt acting cool" so reid was probably actively killing subaru to reset loops until subaru could beat him or have the ideal world

It was a good episode. I liked Shaula’s actions and her transformation into a scorpion. The fall from the tower was well drawn and animated, the scene itself was sad and tragic, just like Beatrice's death. Reid was was insane and terrifying. Subaru loves breaking records, died 17 times in this episode alone (more than in the entire first season), bringing his total for the fourth season to 25 (more than all previous seasons combined), also Subaru is once again in a situation where he faces a multitude of obstacles with very few resources at his disposal, much like in season 2. The best part of the season begins with this episode and runs through the finale. The next episode, in particular, has the potential to be the greatest in the entire "Re:Zero" series — rivaling or even surpassing Episode 11, provided the adaptation is done right. You aren't ready. I love the detail of Subaru's book where the name is in Japanese. It immediately explains why the rest didnt find it

They just didn't find it in the first place. Otherwise it would be weird if they found a book written in a language they can't read yet no one bring attention to that.
