  Sitara's fake smile really circles back, in a sad way, to what she was taught in episode 1. Gaining knowledge, learning something is never a bad thing - at the start she hated the fact that she has to keep the fake smile, she didnt want to be seen as someone inteligent and useful, but now she's using everything at her disposal to achive her goals.

  シタラが母の名「ファーティマ」を継ぐの、母の名を背負う＝ある意味で母娘そろって復讐を果たすってことで、すごく美しくて強い❤❤❤ しかも、その女が読むことすらできない本のためにファーティマの人生が奪われたって、あまりに残酷だ💔💔💔

  Sitara taking up the name Fatima is so beautiful and strong since she’s taking up her mothers name and in a way both her and her mother are taking revenge together which I find amazing ❤❤❤ Also it’s crazy how Fatima’s life was taken over a book that woman could not even understand 💔💔💔

  シタラがあの男を憎むのは、たぶん敵に与した“協力者”だからだ。「傷つきたくないだけ」なんて言い草は、戦争で全てを失った人間からすれば臆病の叫びにしか聞こえない

  Sitara probably hates the guy for being a collaborator. "Oh I just don't want to be hurt" will scream cowardice to someone who lost all she had to war

  モンゴルの暮らしぶりが少し知れて良かった。次回以降もっと描いてほしい。シタラは復讐に燃えてるようだけど、自暴自棄なことだけはしないでほしい。特にファーティマは彼女に生きてほしいはずだから、それが何の得になるんだ

  It was nice to learn a little about the Mongols and how they lived. I'm waiting for more of that in the next episodes. Sitara seems to be set on revenge, but I hope that she won't try to do something suicidal. What good would that bring, especially since Fatima would surely want her to live.

  いずれシタラも「全員が敵」って考え方が危険だと気づくと思う。だって帝国を深く憎んでるのは彼女だけじゃない。今のやり方に不満を持つ人間はいくらでもいるし、物語もそっちへ向かってる気がする。史実でもモンゴル帝国は結局“内側から”自壊したわけで、アニメでどう描くのか気になる

  I think that, at some point, Sitara will realise that the 'everyone is my enemy' mindset is dangerous. After all, she isn't the only one who harbours such deep hatred for the Empire. There are plenty of people who are not happy with the way things are run, and I suppose the story is moving in that direction. In real-life history, the Mongol Empire essentially destroyed itself, so I wonder how this will play out in the anime.

  前の家族の教えと、今の境遇のあいだで、シタラが王道の復讐ルートに行くとは思えないんだよな。今すぐ本を奪って野営地ごと焼いたとして、その後は？砂漠を独りでさまようのか？今はモンゴル側に留まることで、ウイグルの民みたいに色んな文化に触れて新しい知識を得る機会がいくらでもある

  Between the teaching of her previous family and her current situation, I don't see Sitara go the traditionnal revenge path.Could she get the book now and burn the whole camp then what's the plan? Wandering in the desert alone? I'm sure by staying with the Mongol (for now) she will hav many opportunities to learn new knowledges being exposed to many cultures just like the Ouigour in this episode.

  今季ベストだともう心に決めてる。チンギス・ハンの息子たちを5分でざっと紹介する構成が良かった。長男ジョチは庶子かもしれず、歳を取るにつれ一族に反抗的になる。次男チャガタイは超がつく生真面目。三男オゴデイは温厚でおっとりだが酒が過ぎる。四男トルイはみんなの弟分。俺は一時期、中央アジア／中国史専攻で今も趣味で追ってる。史実と文化の目配せの入れ方が痒い所に手が届く。原作者、そこ相当作り込んでる

  I already have this one set in my mind as the best this season. The episode was great and I liked how they did the 5 minute intro of Chinggas Khan's sons. Jochi, the 1st prince, maybe illegitimate, as he gets older he becomes more rebellious against the rest of the family. Chagadai, the 2nd prince is extremely serious. Ogedai the 3rd prince is even tempered and laid back, but drinks too much. And Touli the 4th prince is everybody's little brother. I was a China/Central Asian History major for a short time and it's still a hobby. This show scratches an itch for me in how they throw in history and cultural references. The source writer really put in work on that front.

  この話で聴こえたあの紛れもないモンゴルのホーミー（喉歌）が良かった。トレーラーにあったみたいに、いずれ馬頭琴（モリンホール）が演奏される場面も見られると期待してる。バツォリグ・ヴァーンチグは両方こなす現代モンゴルの有名な奏者だ

  I liked hearing the unmistakable Mongolian throat singing heard in this episode and expect to see the morin khuur, or Mongolian two-stringed horsehead fiddle, being shown played in one or more future episodes, as shown in one of the trailers. Batzorig Vaanchig is a modern Mongolian musician and singer famous for doing both.

  土曜が『ジャードゥーガル』と『本好き』で完璧になった👏👏 典型的なアニメって感じじゃなくて、むしろ道徳を巡る物語みたいで新鮮。史実がベースなのが伝わってきて、どんでん返しがあっても地に足がついてる。子供の頃クラッシュコース（歴史解説動画）でモンゴルに滅ぼされた文明の話をよく見てたから、その背後にいた人々のことをもっと知れるのが楽しみ

  Saturdays r perfect with jaadugar and bookworm now 👏👏 this definitely doesn’t feel like a typical anime but its really refreshing, it feels more like a story about morality . You can definitely tell it’s based off of historical events, it has that feeling where there are plot twists but it’s still grounded in reality. I grew up watching crash course history videos where they talked about lot about different civilisations at the time being ended bc of the mongols, so i’m really interested to learn more about the people behind it

  うん、今季の隠れた至宝になりつつある。彼女の長期的な目的がどう形になっていくのか本当に楽しみだ。冒頭のナレーションで“いずれアジアを手玉に取る”と言ってたから、そこにどう至るのか知りたい。タイトルに「魔女」とある以上、いずれ前に学んだ科学・数学の知識と推理で予言をして、モンゴル側からは“魔女”に見える、って展開なんだろうな

  Yup this is shaping up to be one of the gems of the season. I really am interested in seeing what her long term goals shape out to be. The intro narration claimed that she eventually makes asia her plaything, so i want to onow how that comes about. 'Witch' is in the title, so I'm guessing that eventually she'll make predictions based on the scientific/mathematical knowledge she learned previously as well as deductive reasoning, which will make her look like a 'witch' in the Mongols' eyes.

  ミストレスはどうして生きてるんだ？アニメは“絶対死んだろ、あの出血量見ろ”と思わせるのが本当に上手い。臓器への致命傷ではないから即死はしない、でも当時の感覚なら生半可な傷でも化膿して死ぬ。重大なネタバレじゃないなら、どうやって生きてるのか知りたい

  How is mistress alive? The anime did a great job at making people think yeah she's definitely dead look at how much blood splattered, it wasn't a fatal blow to the organs so wouldnt kill in an instant but according to that time period its like even a decent cut can get infected and you'll die. Unless its a major spoiler, I want to know how is she alive?

  この話でシタラがヒジャブをまとって烈々と燃えてる描き方、好きだ。アメリカの作品だと、ヒジャブのキャラが人生の新章に入ったり大きな決断をする時、たいてい“ヒジャブを外す”描写になる。でもここでは逆に、彼女が女として一歩踏み出す（＝自らの意志でヒジャブをまとうことは、しばしば大人へと成長し、イスラム／人生をより成熟して受け止めるサインとされる）決意として、まとったまま戦う。行けえシタラ／ファーティマ、敵どもを灰にしてやれえええ

  i love how in this episode sitara is shown so fiercely fiery in her hijab. usually in american shows when the hijabi character enters a new phase of their life/make a big decision, they are shown as taking off their hijab. but here she wears it as she probably now decides whe needs to women up (since voluntary wearing of hijab is often considered as a signifier for one's self-growth towards adulthood and taking islam/life more maturely) and fight. let's gooo Sitara/Fatima ruin them enemiesss to ashesssss
