Netflixが『サイバーパンクエッジランナーズ』続編の第2弾ティザーPVを公開し、海外ファンのコメント欄が阿鼻叫喚の盛り上がりを見せた。レトロなVHS映像の演出への称賛、前作主人公デヴィッドへの追悼ムード、新キャラたちが早くも“死亡フラグ”を立てられている考察合戦、そして『NARUTO』を彷彿とさせるビジュアルへのツッコミまで話題は尽きなかった。そして最後は、あるコメントへの秀逸な返しの一言で締まる。

俺たちは100%あのカメラ担当の子を好きになって、その上でイカれたサイコが顔面を踏みつけるVHS風の映像で死ぬところを見せられる。今から断言しとく。しかも5話目から最終話の間、ちゃんと感情移入させてから殺しにくるパターンだ
we're 100% gonna fall in love with the camera girl, only to watch her die in a VHS-style recording where some crazy cyberpsycho stomps her face in on camera. I'm calling it now. And it'll happen sometime between the fifth and last episode when we've already grown to love her as a character

大丈夫だろ。デヴィッドとベッカはこの世界観で作れる限り最高に好かれるキャラだった。あの二人以上に好きになるキャラなんて作れっこない…だよな？
It's fine. David and Becca were the most likeable characters possible for a setting like this, they can't possibly make any characters we would love more than those two... right?

あの赤い電流、1期のサンデビスタンみたいに、今シーズンは“ブラックウォール”に踏み込むことを匂わせてる気がする
I think the red electricity is hinting that this season is gonna dive into the blackwall, just like sandevistan for season 1

いや、あれはただの標準クイックハックだと思う。むしろ今シーズンは全体的にもっと“地に足がついた”話になる気がする。ゲームや1期のデヴィッドみたいな“新米マーセナリーからアフターライフの伝説へ”という成り上がりは描かれないんじゃないか。今回の面子はキングスリーの転落を除けば、社会的地位も評判もわりと“固定的”なポジションにいる感じで、コーポ時代のVが荒坂の防諜部にいた頃にやってたような、もっと“普通の”ナイトシティの裏社会にいるタイプに見える。Dはいずれサイコシスやスーサイドみたいな終盤級のクイックハックを使うようになるかもしれないけど、基本は中盤〜終盤手前くらいのクイックハックとネットランナー業務の範囲で動くと思う。彼はノマド一族出身のネットランナーであって天才児じゃないし、他のメンバーもデヴィッドみたいな“特別製”には見えない
Nah, those are standard quickhacks. Actually, this season seems more grounded to me. Like, we won't see the same progression from rookie merc to Afterlife Legend we also see in the game and in Edgerunners I. These guys seem more ''static'' in their social/rep setting, with the exception of Kingsley's fall from grace. They seem to inhabit the more ''standard'' night city underbelly. The kind that corpo V was working on while at Arasaka counterintel. I think D will have end game level quickhacks like Cyberpsycho or Suicide at some point but he will most likely operate within the mid to pre-end game quickhacks and net-runner stuff. He's a netrunner from a nomad clan, not some prodigy. Same with the others. No one really seems to be built different like David was.
